Paul Lazenby

Paul Lazenby Profile Image 1

Name: Paul Lazenby

Scooter Handle: Lazo or Lazers

Home Town: York

Club: A few Mates I knock around with locally

Affiliation: LMLOCGB

Specialities: Sounds of the Sixties, The Who, Motown, Reggae, Madness, The Jam, Paul Weller.  Maintaining my LML, Model Engineering, washing the dishes & decorating the house in order to get LML time-off for good behaviour (sod the garden)

Inspirations: The original 1973 Double Album by The Who, “Quadrophenia”. I was 16 and the lyrics and music changed my life. Never seen the Film, never will – I don’t want it to alter my own interpretations of the original Album and it’s meanings to me

Scooter Model: LML Star 125 DLX

Frame Modifications: None as yet. Don’t think I ever will. The style is too classy and iconic for any of that. Oh yeah, foam removed from inside around Air-inlet

Engine Modifications: Standard De-Restrict & Sito+ , Piaggio Air Filter, 98 Main, NGK BP7HS

Specialised Parts: None as yet. Somehow I always seem to want to keep things as standard as possible. However, I will fit Tubless Rims as soon as funds permit

Accessories: Top Box for Fuel Can and Oil etc when I’m out touring on long journeys. Drinks Tray, Black Spare Cover. Flyscreen to follow soon

Customisation: None as yet, apart from a few Stickers. I always enjoy seeing Custom Scooters at Shows and Rallies, but have a reputation for plain white Scooters and I reckon I’ll keep to that. I would like some extra (working) Headlamps but increased weight is a factor to consider at the moment

Future Plans: Fit a 5-Port or Malossi Kit (Engine rebuild) with Carb Mods & Exhaust to suit. I will investigate the options and of course the LMLOCGB Forums are the best place for this – or – Buy an LML 200 4t – and – reduce my weight thru diet & exercise

What developments for LMLs and/or Scene would you like to see? LML to release the 200 4t A,S,A.P.  Fixed Front Mudguard a la Lammy. This option would do them a lot of good – in my opinion – or fit the T5 Mudguard. I would like the scene (as it is) to go on developing around the retention of a market for Manual Geared Scooters and thanks to LML a lot of new, young Scooterists are catered for, with machines as up to date as possible. Also thanks for the film version of Quadrophenia – still inspiring generations to come. I wonder if at some date there will ever be a re-make?
